Butte Officials Appeal After $20M EPA Grant for Rec Center Canceled

(Butte – Isreal Hale) At the beginning of the year, Butte-Silver Bow County was awarded a $20 million grant by the Environmental Protection Agency for a community recreation center, but the grant was subsequently canceled.

Now, Butte-Silver Bow County officials say that they’re still fighting for the best interests of the community as they make an appeal.

The grant is part of about $1.6 billion in grants that were canceled across the United States by the Trump Administration in May. City officials called the loss of funding disheartening.
