MONTREAL, Canada (NMB) – The Canadian Government has announced that beginning on August 9th, fully vaccinated Americans and Canadians will be able to cross the land border between the United States and Canada for non-essential travel.
Those under the age of 12 that are not vaccinated will also be allowed entry for non-essential travel, provided that they are accompanied by fully vaccinated parents or guardians.
A negative COVID-19 PCR or molecular test within 72 hours of requesting entry will also be required to enter Canada, regardless of vaccination status.
The border has been closed to non-essential travel since March 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic.
If all goes well, Canada says they plan to allow other non-essential international travelers beginning in early September.
