(Great Falls) Between March 14th and March 18th, officers at the Cascade County Detention Center successfully intervened in multiple suicide attempts and a fire, which they say highlights the vigilance of the detention staff and the effectiveness of the GUARDIAN RFID System.
Between March 14th and 18th, Cascade County Detention Center staff prevented four different suicides, and is continuing further monitoring on each of them.
On the evening of the 18th, officers noticed a burning smell and found an inmate had attempted to start a fire in a cell, likely to make tattoo ink. Officers quickly contained the situation and locked down the area for safety.
Sheriff Jesse Slaughter commended the officers’ swift actions and the critical role of the Guardian Camera System in preventing these incidents.
