SWEETGRASS, Mont. (NMB) – In an effort to further understand the impact of the proposed adjustment of hours of operation at four Montana ports of entry prior to the April 14th implementation, U.S. Customs and Border Protection has scheduled town hall meetings to discuss and receive feedback from the public. Additionally, CBP has been conducting informative and constructive discussions with staffers from the offices of our Congressmen.
According to a press release, CBP identified the Raymond, Scobey, Opheim, and Morgan ports of entry for modification of operational hours to realign resources to historical and existing traffic volumes and workload.
CBP will redirect valuable resources and staffing to ports with significantly greater commercial and passenger volumes. Canada will not be aligning hours to match the new CBP hours and will stay open during the hours proposed for adjustment.
The Morgan town hall meeting will take place at 4 PM on April 3rd at the Great Northern Hotel Conference Room in Malta.
