The Chinook Sugarbeeters basketball teams went on the road to face the Shelby Coyotes on Saturday and once again, the girls’ won and the boys’ lost.
For the Lady Beeters, who won (55-44), they raced out to a (15-6) 1st quarter lead, but Shelby kept it close due to their 3-point shooting in the latter parts of the first half to knot the game at 24 after 16 minutes of play. Chinook roared back in the third quarter to score the first nine points of the third quarter and spaced out the lead from there, including starting the 4th quarter on a (10-0) run.
For the Beeter boys, they kept it close, trailing by only five points at halftime. However, the Coyotes went on a (21-7) run during the third quarter and broke the game open. The final score was (72-44).
Next time fans will get a chance to see the Sugarbeeters basketball teams will be this coming Thursday when the Choteau Bulldogs come to town. The Beeters will also have their makeup contests with Conrad the next day and then hit the road to play at Rocky Boy next Saturday. All games will be streamed on KRYK-101.3FM and HiLineToday.com.
