Havre, MT – Last week the Chinook Sugarbeeters boys’ basketball team went through two rounds at the district tournament before losing an Overtime loss to Fort Benton (70-68) in the consolation semifinal sent them home.
Head coach of the Sugarbeaters Bill Bell thought the effort of his team improved as the tournament progressed.
“The Effort of the team improved as the tournament went one. It didn’t seem like we was fully into it against Conrad, because you know we beat Conrad twice and I warned them about overlooking Conrad and that might have played into it a little. But to give Conrad credit they had all five seniors that started for them; but as the tournament went on we seemed to relax and play better basketball.” Coach Bell Said.
The Sugarbeeters finished the season 8-13 overall and will return the entire team except for one starter next season.
