Chinook, MT – The Chinook Sugarbeeters football team braved the winter weather Friday night, putting together a dominant performance in a snowy showdown against the Cascade Badgers, earning a convincing 46-6 victory.
With snow falling and conditions making things difficult on the field, the Sugarbeeters rose to the occasion, and were able to punch their ticket to the postseason as the #3 seed in the Northern C 8-Man division.
Chinook came into the matchup looking to make a statement on their Senior night and they did just that. Senior Quarterback Ryan Bell was able to tally three total touchdowns in the game, two on the ground and one in the air to Senior Wide Receiver Jameson Nordboe.
Senior Running Backs Patrick McKenzie and Carter Alisch were also able to get into the endzone for Chinook as well.
Defensively, the Sugarbeeters limited Cascade to just six points, helping set the tone for a one-sided contest. Chinook’s ability to execute in the difficult conditions proved to be a major factor in the team’s commanding victory.
The 46-6 final score capped off an impressive night for the Sugarbeeters, who have now earned the right to play next weekend, and as it looks right now, they will be taking on the Darby Tigers.
