Chinook Football Looks For Two Wins In A Row

The Chinook Sugarbeeters (1-2) are preparing to play the Fort Benton Longhorns (2-1) on Friday night for homecoming. Chinook coach Mike Jones give the New Media Broadcasters listeners a preview of the Longhorns and what they do especially well on offense.

“(Fort Benton) is going to run the ball and be pretty physical inside the guards,” Jones said. “(The) quarterback coming from last year is a heck of a runner and tough to bring down.”

“They’ll lull you to sleep with that run game, even though it’s not just lulling,” Jones continued. “They are going to try and come at you and smash you in the face and then when you come down hill, they’re going to try and throw it over the top.”

Chinook stayed disciplined in the win against Harlem last week. Coach Jones gives the keys to how his team will have to stay composed against a tough opponent this week.

“We have to stay at home and read our keys,” Jones said. “We have to play probably the most physical football game we’ve had to play yet this year.”

“(We have to) be in that game in the fourth quarter and make sure we watch film and make sure we do our job in a physical manner,” Jones continued.

The Sugarbeeters and Longhorns will kick off at 7pm from Hoon Field on Friday night. Listen to KRYK 101.3-FM with Noah Friedman broadcasting the game.
