Simms, MT – The Chinook Sugarbeeters football team hopes to carry last season’s momentum into this year as they travel to Simms to face the Tigers tonight at 6 p.m.
NMB Sports spoke with Head Coach Mike Jones ahead of the season opener about what the team needs to do to start the season on the right foot.
“Offensively we want to take advantage of their alignments to certain things and make sure we establish the physicality of the run game early and often,” Coach Jones explained.
“Hopefully we go from there and take care of business. We’re really hoping offensively with how much experience we have, we can do some pretty advanced stuff and call a lot on the line and have those seniors and skill kids take ownership of that offense and run it themselves.”
Coach Jones and the Sugarbeeters look to repeat the outcome of last season’s matchup against the Tigers where they won 74-0.
