The Chinook girls’ basketball team is continuing on with their undefeated record of (10-0). The Lady Beeters have a tall task in front of them for this week’s games. With the scheduled makeup game at home against Conrad taking place, that will be sandwiched into the games that were already scheduled. Chinook coach Mike Seymour told New Media Broadcasters that adding an extra game will only intensify the conditioning that has taken place during practice and he credited the Lady Beeter JV squad for also contributing.
“I don’t think it’s going to matter,” Seymour said. “Our practices are pretty up-tempo and intense to where we’re getting after each other.”
“Our (junior varsity) squad has done a nice job of improving their game and pushing our varsity team in practice,” Seymour continued.
The outlook on the schedule also gives Chinook an opportunity to play these games as if they are going to be competing in tournaments, but will jump start that process early.
“It’s like a mini-preparedness for districts, divisionals, (and) state, tournaments,” Seymour said. “It gives you an opportunity for (a feel of) postseason play of three games in a row and getting your legs underneath you. It gives you a feel for it (and w)e’re excited.”
Chinook’s games this week will all tip off at 6pm; Thursday at home versus Choteau, Friday at home versus Conrad, and Saturday on the road at Rocky Boy. Both the Lady Beeters and Beeter boys’ basketball games will be available on KRYK-101.3FM and HiLineToday.com.
