Chinook Girls Win, Chinook Boys Lose Against Rocky Boy

On Thursday night, the Chinook Sugarbeeters basketball teams once again split their games, this time against Rocky Boy. The girls defeated the Morning Stars, (53-13), while the boys dropped another game, losing to the Northern Stars by the final of (79-58).

For the Chinook girls, the usual suspects of junior guard Alexus Seymour and senior forward Hallie Neibauer each poured in 20 points. The Lady Beeters played tremendous defense on Rocky Boy, holding them scoreless in the entire third quarter. The girls improve to (5-0) on the season with the victory.

For the Chinook boys, they couldn’t withstand scoring efforts from San Jai Standing Rock, who had nine first quarter points and finished with 17 for the contest. In the second quarter, Teague Stump went off for 16 points, including two three-pointers and ended up with 19 for the game. The third quarter saw Aeron Gopher take over, putting in 12 and leading all scorers with 24. Jackson Nordboe continued his fantastic season, putting in 19 points. The Chinook boys are now (1-5) and (0-3) in the 1B conference.

The Beeters will now have an extended Christmas break and be back to action in the New Year with games at Fairfield and home versus Cut Bank. Those games will be on Jan. 5 and 6, respectively.
