Chinook Loses In State Girls Basketball Semifinal

Chinook girls’ basketball had an impressive showing to begin the 2025 MHSA State Class ‘B’ girls’ basketball tournament, getting past Florence-Carlton on Thursday night. Friday night would prove to be another large hill to climb as the Lady Beeters matched up with the 2-loss Huntley Project Red Devils.

The Lady Beeters stood tough with Huntley, trailing (17-13) at the end of the first quarter. The Red Devils got more space in the second, outscoring Chinook, (16-7) to lead, (33-20) at the break. The deficit would be the same through three quarters at 13, (49-36). Project’s offense was ultimately too much for the defensive-minded Chinook Sugarbeeters and they did not have the scoring to contend as the final was (62-44).

Alexus Seymour had 14 points in the defeat, while Hannah Schoen put up 10.
