The Lady Chinook Sugarbeeters Basketball Team if off to a 4-0 start to begin their 2022 season. Their latest victories coming over the weekend, with back-to-back wins Friday (60-28) @ Big Sandy and Saturday Night (59-42) vs Box Elder. Heading into Christmas break, the Sugarbeeters are riding high.
Head Coach Mike Jones had this to say when asked about how he feels about his team during the 4-0 start:
“We feel pretty good, it’s a lot of work. It’s not just this year’s work, but these girls have put in a lot of time and effort. We watch a lot of film, and you can tell they definitely want to get better. They’re definitely not satisfied with where they’re at, but they are happy with the start. “ – Jones
It can be tricky for a Coach when the team is playing so well but will now have extended time off due to Christmas Break. Coach Jones talks about his approach to balance time off and not gaining rust:
“We’re going to watch some film, and with Christmas coming up we’re going to give them two days off. We have a game right after the break, so that week before our game we’re going to hit the ground running again. Put some new stuff in and find some stuff that we already have in” -Jones
The Sugarbeeters are back in action January 3rd, when they hit the court vs CJI at 6PM.
