CHINOOK, Mont. (NMB) – After the Thanksgiving holiday, the City of Chinook will start their Christmas celebrations with their annual Festival of Trees, Parade of Lights and Christmas Stroll on Friday. President of the Chinook-Area Chamber of Commerce Sarah Pratt says that the stroll will take place from 1 to 6 PM, with the Parade starting at 6. People can also drop off punch cards at the Chamber Office by 6 PM to get entered into a raffle.
“We’re actually going to be doing a progressive business punch this year. And you can go into the office that day and pick up your punch card and then it will have a list of businesses that are participating. And you go around to those businesses, see what they have. You can get your cards punched by them.”
Pratt says they have several activities going on, like live and silent auctions and an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus.
“The vendors will be there from 1 to 6 on Main Street. And the museums will be open. The Library will be having their Grinch movie at 1 and at 4 o’clock. The Bell Choir will be in the Library meeting room from 2 to 4 and the Santa pictures will be from 3 to 5 in the Chamber Office.
The money raised from this event will go towards maintaining the snowflake lights on Main Street in Chinook.
