Recently, the Chippewa Cree Tribe was awarded a $741,000 Rural and Tribal Assistance program grant.
Curtis Monteau, director of the Chippewa Cree Road Department, told New Media Broadcasters the plan for the funding.
“So this is a planning grant, and what we’re gonna do with it is the whole agency area we’re going to improve, because there hasn’t been any real work done on these roads for probably 40 years. So we’re going to do some planning to do some rehabilitation of these intersections and the entire agency area.”
