HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The circus that was scheduled to come to the Great Northern Fairgrounds next week has been canceled.
Fair Board Chair Tyler Smith says it appears that the circus company they contracted with was a scam. Phone calls to the circus started going unanswered a few weeks ago. The fair board out of Kalispell, who also contracted with the same circus, contacted Smith and said their event had been canceled as well.
After some research, Smith said it appears that the company had been operating under multiple names.
The good news is that the Fair Board isn’t losing money, as the circus didn’t charge them to come. Smith says that if people bought tickets already, they should turn them into their bank for bank fraud.
