(Havre) – The Havre Blue Ponies tennis teams claimed first place on both the boys and girls side at the divisional tournament in Helena last week. New Media Broadcasters spoke with Ponies head coach Jeff Miller and he tells us how his teams met and exceeded expectations on the way to team titles.
“The boys, we had pretty high expectations going into it. We thought we were the team to beat going into it and they all performed well, some of them even exceeding expectations. The girls, we knew we were right there. Helena would be tough to compete with, but we were able to win a few matches late in the tournament and that kind of pushed us over the top to take first on the girls side too.”
The Class “A” State Tennis Tournament is in Billings this week.
