CHINOOK, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Department of Transportation has announced that construction has resumed on the Lohman east/west project on U.S. Highway 2 between Havre and Chinook.
Topsoil and shoulder work resumed on Wednesday. The traveling public should expect minimal impacts to traffic flow as trucks haul topsoil to work zones. MDT will establish work zones with signal lights and flaggers to accommodate truck movement and through traffic. Expect reduced speeds of 35 miles an hour where crews are present.
This project reached substantial completion in late 2020, with only miscellaneous work left for this spring before the project is officially completed. New passing and turning lanes, new bridges, and wider shoulders have already been installed.
The project spans 10 miles of US 2 and has an estimated cost of $28.9 million.
