HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Hill County Commission convened on Thursday morning for their weekly business meeting.
The Commission unanimously approved a task order for the grant funded project to replace the lift station in RSID 21, located in North Havre.
The task order adds around $93,000 to the total that the County will be paying Great West Engineering for assistance with the project. The total funds that the County has allocated to Great West Engineering is now $113,000. They will be in charge of the bidding process. All funds for this project are being paid for by grants.
By a 2-1 vote, the Commission authorized the use of around $23,300 of the general fund budget for a project to replace flooring on the main floor of the Courthouse. McNair Furniture will be installing black carpeting in the entry way, and a black and gray patterned carpet on the rest of the main floor, as well as the stairs and elevator. Linoleum flooring on the main floor will be replaced with panels that look like wood.
The hope is for this project to be completed by Christmas, according to Commissioner Mark Peterson. Commissioner Diane McLean provided the dissenting vote as she disagreed with the choice of carpeting and the process that led to the decision.
Also at the meeting, the Commission unanimously voted to proceed with a project for improved wireless internet in the Courthouse. The internet will be password protected, and the project will be funded with money allocated from the American Rescue Plan (ARPA) Act.
