LOUISIANA (NMB) – A U.S. District Court Judge has ruled that the federal government cannot require Head Start program teachers to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
Montana is one of 24 states involved in the lawsuit, with Attorney General Austin Knudsen having signed on.
The Biden Administration had ordered that Head Start program teachers needed to be vaccinated by January 31st, with children in the program over the age of 2 being required to mask up indoors, as well as outdoors when social distancing is not possible.
It is not clear if the federal government will appeal.
In issuing his ruling, Trump-appointed Judge Terry Doughty said the Biden administration illegally bypassed Congress.
