POWELL COUNTY, Mont. — Fire crews continue to battle the Jericho Mountain Fire, burning roughly 150 acres about five miles south of Macdonald Pass in Powell County.
Containment remains at zero percent as the fire burns in heavy dead and downed timber.
Firefighters are constructing indirect lines using existing roads to improve safety and containment success.
The Northern Rockies Incident Management Team took command Tuesday morning.
A closure order is expected for the Helena Ranger District south of Highway 12.
Hot, dry weather is forecasted, and fire activity may increase.
