(Montana) The CPSC is warning consumers to immediately stop using a specifc Hygge play yard mattress because they violate the federal safety regulation for crib mattresses posing a suffocation hazard to infants.
The mattresses fail to meet a a variety of labeling and thickness requirements, making them an unsafe sleeping environment for infants.
While CPSC has notified the Hyggs company of their violation, the firm has not agreed to officially recall the products, offer a remedy to consumers, or offer any type of refund to those who purchased the product.
The CPSC urges consumers to stop using the mattresses immediately, and to dispose of the mattresses in the garbage after cutting it into smaller pieces.
