Daines Applauds Reversal of Federal Rules Threatening Colstrip Power Plant

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Senator Steve Daines is applauding President Trump and EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin for overturning two federal environmental rules that he says threatened Montana’s Colstrip Power Plant.

The reversal of the Mercury and Air Toxics Standards and Clean Power Plan 2.0 will allow the plant to remain operational.

Daines called the move a win for Montana workers and energy security.

He previously urged the EPA to exempt the plant from the rules and says he will continue to support Montana-based energy policies.
