The annual HiLine Invitational Tournament, better known as the H.I.T., got the 2023 edition underway with Class A vs Class C teams on Thursday night.
The girl’s session started the evening, with Class C picking up the 10-point victory over Class A, (89-79). On the Class C side of the scoresheet, Roy/Winifred’s Isabelle Heggem led the way with 20 points, Emma Konen of Twin Bridges put up 16, Chinook’s Hallie Niebauer contributed 14 points, and Ava Bellach added 11 on the night. For the A players, Layne Kearns of Hamilton headed up scoring with 18, Alysa Aby of Laurel sunk 16 points, and Havre Lady Blue Pony Ariana Gray totaled 14.
The boy’s game followed up, with Class A taking the win 110-105 over Class C. For the A boys, Ryder Lee of Miles City led all scoring with 24 points. Other double-digit scorers were Lewistown’s Royce Robinson with 19, 14 points from Dougie Peoples of Butte Central, 11 points from Hamilton’s Asher Magness, and a 10-point showing from Fischer Brown of Lewistown. C scoring was spearheaded by 18 points from Kade Erickson of Broadview/Lavina, while Belt’s Bridger Vogl and Mason Dethman of Froid/Medicine Lake each added 16 points. Bryce Grebe rounded out double digit scoring with 13 points for the night.
The H.I.T. continues through Saturday evening at the Armory Gym at MSU-Northern, with Friday’s games beginning at 8am.
