HELENA – The Montana Department of Revenue is reminding qualified Montana taxpayers have nine more days to enroll their properties to receive reduced tax rates for their primary residences (homesteads) or long-term rental property.
Governor Greg Gianforte announced earlier this month that the department had determined extenuating circumstances to exist, allowing DOR to waive the application deadline until March 20. The fastest way for taxpayers to enroll their property is online at homestead.mt.gov.
The online enrollment portal will close at midnight on March 20, 2026.
