CHINOOK, Mont. (NMB) – The schedule for the upcoming Blaine County Fair is coming into focus.
After a seriously scaled-back fair last year due to the pandemic, this year’s fair, which will take place between August 11th-15th, will be full of events.
The first three nights of the Fair will feature rodeos in the grandstand. The kid’s rodeo will be on the opening night starting at 5 PM, while there will be a PRCA Rodeo Thursday and Friday night starting at 7 PM.
Saturday night will feature a demolition derby starting at 5 PM, while Sunday’s event will feature over two dozen matinee boxing matches. More information on that is expected to become available over the coming weeks.
The 4-H Livestock Sale will take place on Saturday at 2 PM.
This year’s carnival will be run by Kids Fun Zone and Amusements out of Great Falls, and will be open Thursday through Saturday. Most of the rides are free, with the exception of the bungee trampoline, battle balls, and carnival games.
Other entertainment will include Pippi the Clown, and artists Cale Moon, and Jess Allestad.
Randy’s Freckle Farm was supposed to provide a petting zoo, but they have canceled due to health problems. The Board is looking to see if they can book a replacement.
Other information about the Blaine County Fairgrounds:
- The Fair Board voted at their last meeting to raise rental rates of the commercial building. Rental now costs $300 most of the year, but $350 during the winter. The rate increase will begin in January 2022
- New password-protected wireless internet has been installed at the Fairgrounds
- Lights in the rodeo arena are being replaced, with the project expected to be completed in time for the Fair
