HELENA VALLEY, Mont. (NMB) – The Independent Record reports that 58 horses at a north Helena Valley ranch were seized on Tuesday by the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
The horses were believed to have been neglected and are being examined by veterinarians.
Authorities acted on a search warrant at 9 AM on Tuesday, with 15 law enforcement officials at the scene.
The range of neglect is believed to stretch from moderate to severe.
The owner of the horses has not been identified. Charges could include criminal neglect.
