DPHHS Warns Public About Recalled Infant Cereal

HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) have announced a voluntary recall of rice cereal for infants and babies has been issued by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The recalled infant cereal was distributed nationally through Walmart stores and online. This recall is due to routine sampling that discovered three production lots of Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal tested above the guidance for naturally occurring inorganic arsenic.

The recalled lots were sold after April 5th, 2021. Lot and date numbers can be found on the back of the packaging in the bottom left corner.

The recalled products are Parent’s Choice Rice Baby Cereal, 8 oz:

  • lot #21083, date June 24th, 2022
  • lot #21084, date June 25th, 2022
  • lot #21242, date November 30th, 2022

Anyone that has these products are urged to discard them.

Walmart stores have removed all product from store shelves and discontinued online sales.

No illnesses related to the product have been reported to date.
