Havre, MT – With the season under way, Skylights volleyball looks ahead with a 1-1 record, and improvement.
Over the weekend Montana State University-Northern opened the season with a loss to Lewis-Clark State College in three sets but followed it up with a four-set win over Walla Walla University.
Head coach of Skylights Volleyball, Jerry Wagner, liked what he saw from game-to-game improvement and what they can build off of going into next.
“We improved; it was a good trip for us. it was nice to finish on a high note,” coach Wagner said. “I’ve never been around a group that’s taking this on and handling the emotions of it all as well as we did.”
In the Second game against Walla Walla Coach Wagner saw two aspects of the game that his team significantly improve on.
“Our serving we had eight aces, so we served up to the level we need to, and we passed the ball at the level to run our offense as efficiently as we could, so it was a huge improvement.” said coach Wagner.
The Skylights will take on William Carey University at 1p.m. and Eastern Oregon University at 6p.m. on Thursday, August 21.
MSU-Northern caps off the weekend against Taylor University, and Ottawa University Arizona on Friday and Saturday.
