HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – At the fall Education Advisory Board meeting held on Tuesday on Montana State University-Northern’s campus, educators from across the Hi-Line and the state met to review enrollments and teacher shortage areas.
A press release says Havre School District Superintendent and Board Chair, Andy Carlson, stated rural schools are in a crisis with teacher shortages. Innovative ways to address districts’ needs were planned. Data on the new fall teacher education cohort was presented and they discussed plans for the 2020 practicums and student teaching placements in Great Falls, and along the Hi-Line, including Chinook, Harlem, Hays, Poplar, Wolf Point and Havre area schools.
