FLATHEAD COUNTY, Mont. (NMB) – The Elmo 2 fire burning west of Flathead Lake was estimated at 21,182 acres as of Friday morning with containment up to 15 percent.
At least eight structures are now confirmed to have been lost, and the evacuation order remains in place for all residents residing north and south of Hwy 352 (Lake Mary Ronan Road) and all residents who live along Lake Mary Ronan. All prior evacuation orders and pre-evacuation warnings are still effect.
Over 480 personnel have been assigned to the scene.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
