Saturday night was a battle royale of hoops action between the MSU Northern athletic squads and the college of Montana Western. In the men’s basketball battle between the Northern Lights and Western Bulldogs was nose to nose through the first half of play with Northern ahead by a three-point shot, 36 to 33. By the end of the game Northern and Western scored toe to toe with 32 points from each side, giving the Northern Lights the win 68 to 65.
The Skylights game was no less exciting although with a less dominating outcome. The Northern ladies kept the Bulldogs in check by the first quarter of play but Montana Western refused to give an inch and dominated the rest of the game winning, Bulldogs 69, Skylights 41.
