HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Just weeks after the Feed My Sheep Soup Kitchen apparently hired a director, a search is now underway for a replacement.
Evelyn Foursouls has confirmed with New Media Broadcasters that she was let go from the position, as she was notified via a letter on Friday that she would not be receiving an employment contract.
Foursouls says she was told by the Board that she was still within her 90-day-probation period at the time of the decision, which according to the Board, means they can let her go without providing a reason.
Foursouls says that she is considering all of her options, and legal action may be on the table.
This comes after a Board meeting several weeks ago in which Foursouls’ employment was discussed, with some showing support for her and others providing criticism.
No action was taken at that meeting.
A statement from the Board of Directors reads as follows:
For the past 33 years, the Feed My Sheep Soup Kitchen has been providing quality meals to disadvantaged members of the community 6 days per week. Recently, with the departure of the former cook in January, the Board of Directors has been searching for a new cook to continue the ministry with the same level of expertise the community has come to expect. It is unfortunate that at times of change and restructuring, rumors or other disparaging attitudes seem to arise. But the city of Havre can rest assured that Feed My Sheep intends to continue to bless our town as it always as.
