HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre’s annual Festival Days Celebrations are underway and the popular parade will start at 10 AM near Rod’s Drive-In on Saturday. Havre Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Julea Robbins promises a good parade and says this year’s parade marshal is in memoriam.
“So Scott Young was such an asset to the community when he was alive. He helped out with lots of things and he was just a wonderful man. The Board of Directors decided that he would be best this year. He was nominated and they decided he would be best even though he has passed away. And so his wife is going to ride in the parade with some of her friends and family.”
Robbins takes a look at some of the entries in this year’s parade.
“We always have MSU-Northern. They’re our parade sponsor. So they are normally closer up to the front. And then, of course, we have our police and the firemen and color guard, honor guard. And the Lion’s Club always sponsors the Pipe Band to come down, the South Alberta Pipe Band.”
Robbins says that last years changes to the parade route were very successful and they will end near the post office in downtown Havre.
