Filing for Election 2026 opens Tuesday February 17th

(NMB) Filing for the 2026 Primary election opens on Tuesday February 17th at 8am in the Hill County Clerk and Recorders Office. County positions that are up for

election are: Commissioner District 1, currently held by Jake Strissel. Hill County Sheriff, now held by Jamie Ross. Clerk and Recorder, currently held by

Lexi Dockter, Superintendent of Schools, Vicki Proctor, Auditor, held now by Kathy Olson, Treasurer, currently held by Sandy Brown and Justice of the Peace

Audrey Barger. Declaration of candidacy and oath of office forms can be found in the Clerk and Recorders office. Filing fees apply and differ for each position.

House Bill 207 passed by the Montana Legislature shortened the filing period from 60 days to 15 days. Filing closes on March 4th.The Primary will be held on

Tuesday June 2nd and the General election is Tuesday November 3rd, 2026
