(NMB) Former Havre Wreslting standout and Current Purdue Boilermaker Parker Filius took 5th place in the 141 pound bracket at the Big 10 Wrestling Championships over the weekend and qualified for the NCAA wrestling championships. The number 8 seed won his opening round match with a 3-1 decision. He was defeated in the quarterfinal, but won 3 of his next 4 matches to take fifth place. In the 5th place match Filius secured a takedown with one second remaining to win the match. Filius came from behind in 3 of his 4 matches. With the 5th place finish, Filius became the 15th wrestler in Purdue history to place 4 times at the Big 10 Championships. The NCAA Wrestling Championships will be held March 16th through the 18th in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
