HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Havre Public Schools Board of Trustees held a special meeting on Tuesday evening and selected two finalists for the District’s Superintendent position from the three applicants.
The two candidates still in the running are current Interim Superintendent Craig Mueller and Helena Capital High School Principal Brett Zanto.
Mueller said back in January that he would not seek the position on a permanent basis, but has since reconsidered.
The Board has set this upcoming Monday afternoon and evening for virtual meet and greet sessions that will allow the candidates to speak with administration, staff and the community.
Tuesday at 5:30 PM, the Board will reconvene to hold formal interviews with the two finalists, discuss reference checks, and potentially offer a contract to their preferred candidate.
The trustee’s search for a Superintendent has been aided by Kris Goss of the Montana School Boards Association, who joined the meeting virtually to help guide the Board through the process. Goss will continue to assist in the process until a Superintendent is selected.
