Fire at Williamson Range (UPDATED)

(Rocky Boy) – the Natural Resources Department has notified that there is a fire currently at the Williamson Range bordering the Rocky Boy Reservation.

On lookers are asked to stay clear of the operating area and that fire services are currently dealing with the blaze.

The story will update as more information is discovered.

(UPDATE) – The Choteau County Sheriffs Office reported that the fire has been put out last night at 7 pm while the Department of Natural Resources is remaining on site.

The fire which started at 3pm between mile marker 76 and 77 on Judith Landing Highway 236 was an accidental ignition fire. Big Sandy Volunteer Fire Department and Loma Volunteer Fire Department arrived at the scene shortly after and were able to put it out after the fire had burned approximately 2,000 acres.
