Five Records Fall at Last Week’s 9C Track Meet

(Havre) – The District 9-C Boys and Girls Track meet was held on May 7th and five meet records were eclipsed on that day. The Fort Benton Boys set a new record in the 4 by 100-meter relay in a time of 50.52, breaking the record held by the 2017 Fort Benton Team. Etta Wicks claimed the 100-meter record that three individuals previously held in a time of 12.72. The new discus record belongs to Dane Grammar from Chester-Joplin-Inverness High School who set the mark at 158 feet 3 inches breaking the record held by Big Sandy’s Mason Ophus since 2004. Dreyden Anderson of Box Elder set a new meet record in the high jump clearing the bar at 6 foot 7 inches. He broke the record held since 1989 by Brad Kimball of Chester. On the girl’s side, one meet record was eclipsed as Jayla Ramberg from CJI jumped 36 feet 6 and one quarter inches in the Triple jump, breaking the meet record of Jenny Jorgenson from KG High School who had owned it since 1998.
