FORT BELKNAP, Mont. (NMB) – The Fort Belknap Community Council has voted unanimously to move the Reservation into Phase 3 of their reopening plan.
This is effective immediately and scheduled to run through January 2nd. Fort Belknap had previously been in Phase 2B of reopening.
Tribal offices can operate at 75 percent capacity.
The lifting of curfew restrictions will continue, but travel restrictions remain in place to areas to areas determined to be “hotspots.”
Businesses can operate at their normal hours but mask mandates remain in place except when eating or drinking. Refreshments can now be served at casinos.
Local Fort Belknap transportation buses and local gyms and community centers are now allowed to operate at 75 percent capacity.
Essential activities are now allowed without approval from local Disaster and Emergency Services.
The Council continues to strongly encourage the community to mask up and social distance.
This plan can be modified by the Council if the situation changes.
As of December 4th, there were 10 active COVID-19 cases on the Fort Belknap Reservation, with no active hospitalizations. 802 total cases have been reported, with 779 recoveries and 13 deaths.
