FORT BELKNAP, Mont. (NMB) – The Fort Belknap Community Council has announced that the Reservation has moved back into Phase 1 of their reopening plan following the expiration of the Reservation-wide shutdown.
The shutdown began on January 19th and expired at 11:59 PM on Sunday night.
In Phase 1, offices and businesses can be open at 25 percent capacity, while essential programs are permitted to operate at full capacity with masks required.
Restaurants and casinos will require masks, and casinos cannot serve food or beverages in order to promote adherence to the protocol.
Businesses are being asked to follow curfew hours, meaning a 9 PM closing time, and must have submitted safety plans to Fort Belknap DES and must follow Tribal Public Health protocols.
Gyms will remain closed, but weight rooms can be open with limited capacity, by appointment only and with a strict mask mandate.
Nonessential activities must have a safety plan submitted to DES for approval at least five days in advance.
As of Friday evening, there were 98 active COVID-19 cases on the Fort Belknap Reservation, with two active hospitalizations.
