FORT BELKNAP, Mont. (NMB) – Due to the increased spread of COVID-19 and the highly contagious Omicron variant in the Fort Belknap community, their Tribal Council has voted 5-1 to move from Phase 3 to Phase 1 of their reopening plan.
The Reservation is expected to remain in Phase 1 through the end of the month. Community Centers and businesses can remain open but must be at 25 percent capacity.
Masks are required at Tribal offices and businesses, and eating or drinking is not allowed in casinos in order to promote adherence to this policy.
Gyms will remain closed, but weight rooms will be open with limited capacity by appointment only and with a mask mandate.
Curfew hours are 9 PM to 6 AM.
As of Friday evening, there were 33 active COVID-19 cases on the Fort Belknap reservation. This comes after the active case count was down to 0 as recently as January 10th.
