Fort Belknap Primary Elections Set for October 1

FORT BELKNAP, Mont. (NMB) – The 2019 Fort Belknap Primary Elections will be held on Tuesday, October 1st.

The Fort Belknap Tribal Office says they have eight open council seats with two year terms on the ballots and some have up to eight candidates. Absentee voting will be open until Monday, September 30th at 5 PM.

The polling places on Tuesday will be open from 8 AM to 8 PM. The four polling places are at the Enemy Killer Center in Lodgepole, the New Agency Community Hall in Fort Belknap, the John Capture Building in Hays, and at the Wathatau (WAH-taht-ow) Center in Dodson.

The Chippewa Cree Tribe will not be holding any tribal elections this year, but their Chairman’s seat will be up for election in 2020.
