(Fort Benton) – At a special city council meeting on Monday night, Fort Benton Mayor Lanny Walker said the Fort Benton City Pool will open for the rest of the
summer season at a date to be announced. Walker told the council that the city has been able to maintain the pool chemicals at the proper levels and the state
inspector has given them permission to re-open. In other action the City Council voted 5-0 Monday night to redo the city pools plumbing and adding a pool liner to
extend the life of the facillity for at least 20 more years. The total investment by the city will be one to one point three million dollars for this project, and they will
pursue grants and private fundraising to assist in raising the money for this project. The River Press first reported this story.
