Havre Blue Pony basketball headed east, to face the Dawson County Red Devils Friday night.
In the session opener, the Havre Lady Blue Ponies put in a strong showing, defeating Dawson 63-33. The Havre girls took a solid 18-5 lead after a quarter of play, and never looked back.
The Havre boys also picked up a victory in the followup, downing the Red Devils. The Ponies went into the final quarter with a decent 11 point lead. Dawson made a final 15-9 surge, but was unable to overcome the deficit, giving Havre the 52-47 victory.
Michael Murphy led the way for the Blue Ponies, with 18 points on the night.
The teams move further down the road to Sidney for action on Saturday. Early games on KOJM, with the ladies leading off at 3p, and the boys game with a 4:30p followup.
