From Thursday and Friday to Friday and Saturday Games, Skylights Basketball Sees A Change.

Havre, MT – With the expansion of the Frontier Conference, both Montana State University-Northerns Men’s and Women’s basketball programs gameday schedules shift tighter together.

The Frontier Conference has doubled in size adding teams from Nebraska and both Dakotas. Outside of the adjusted travel this brings, Skylights basketball will be facing back-to-back games throughout the conference season. In previous years the Frontier conference played games on Thursday and Friday, this year, in 2025/26 games are shifting Friday and Saturday.

Head Coach of Skylights Basketball, Chris Mouat, says there is a positive to the change despite playing back to backs. “Well, I think the big thing with Friday Saturday is we give our kids a chance to have an extra full day off.” Mouat said. “It will give us a little more time to prepare, but as far as practice we will approach things the same way.”

Skylights basketball starts conference play in mid-November at the University of Providence in Great Falls.
