Ft. Belknap Man Speaks on Housing Problems to Senate

HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – On Wednesday afternoon, Senator Steve Daines stressed the need to address and fix the growing housing issues facing Indian Country in Montana during a U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs Hearing.

A press release says that at Daines’ request, Council Member Nate Mount of Fort Belknap spoke at the hearing as an official witness to discuss issues the tribe is facing in Montana.

During the hearing, Mount detailed specific issues and problems Fort Belknap faces regarding housing, and how Senator Daines, Congress and federal agencies can be helpful in addressing those issues.
