
GREAT FALLS, Mont. (NMB) – A 49-year-old Geraldine man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover crash on US 87 just north of Great Falls early Sunday morning.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred at 2:45 AM at mile marker 9, when a northbound 2011 Dodge Ram drifted off the roadway over the southbound lane and into a ditch while rotating counterclockwise. The vehicle tripped and rolled several times before coming to rest on its passenger side facing southwest.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. He was located approximately 87 feet northwest of the Dodge Ram.
There were no other occupants of the vehicle.
Excessive speed is considered a factor in the crash, and it is unknown if alcohol was a factor.
The road, which is currently under construction, was dry at the time of the crash.
