Gianforte Announces Latest Round of Appointments

HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – Governor Greg Gianforte has announced his latest round of appointments to statewide boards and councils, and a handful of north-central Montanans are among the names.

Justin Grayhawk of Poplar was appointed to the Burial Preservation Board. Grayhawk will represent the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes, and his term runs through August of 2023.

Canace Zion of Winifred was appointed to the Historical Society Board of Trustees. Her term runs through July 1st of 2024, and Gianforte says she has years of experience dealing with local, state, and tribal governments and is committed to documenting, preserving, and recording Montana history for generations to come.

And Liz Whiting of Great Falls was appointed to the State Parks and Recreation Board. Whiting is a former State Legislator, Department of Justice employee, and tour guide. Gianforte says she will be an asset in carefully crafting policy. Her term runs through January 1st of 2023.
