HELENA, Mont. — Governor Greg Gianforte responded Monday to a Montana Supreme Court decision striking down three abortion-related laws he signed in 2021.
The laws restricted abortions after 20 weeks, required ultrasounds, and mandated in-person visits for abortion-inducing drugs.
The court ruled them unconstitutional in a 6-1 decision.
Gianforte criticized the ruling, calling the justices “activists” and saying they ignored legislative intent and medical advances.
The case was Planned Parenthood v. State of Montana.
